Applications for you

WaWaTech is the specialised company to deliver wastewater and sludge treatment plants. We deliver any kind of state-of-the-art and customised solutions. Solutions are based on classical and innovative technologies. With our solutions we serve the finest applications. Our solutions are driven on biological principles and in line with the mindset of a circular and biobased economy.

We like waters with biodegradable pollutants and nutrients. That has our focus.

“You name it. We treat it!”

Wastewater. Sludge. Sewage (Sewer water). Digestate. Centrate. Leachate. Blackwater. Greywater. Effluent. Any kind of polluted water.

Basically,

it is about solutions to treat wastewater according to compliance limits. For treated water to be discharged to a surface water or sewer. For produced sludge’s to be disposed. Alternatively, treated water to be polished and reused as high quality process water.

More sustainably,

solutions are more specific and focus on reuse and recuperation. Not just to emit carbon as carbon dioxide (CO2), but to make biogas (CH4) from it. Or even to convert it to volatile fatty acids (VFA) or bioplastics. For nitrogen and phosphorus compounds it’s for example possible to extract it as fertilizers.

Before scrolling down to the overview, let us explain about our listed applications. See the figure for a simplified diagram of the all-including wastewater treatment plant (WWTP, SWTP, STP, WRRF). We have listed our applications in line with it:

Aerobic Biological Solutions

Aerobic Biological Solutions With aerobic solutions we define the bioreactors where we need oxygen for the removal of pollutants. More precise it's about the systems where we aim to oxidise carbon and nitrogen to CO2 and N2 respectively READ MORE

Anaerobic Biological Solutions

Anaerobic Biological Solutions Since decades it's known that conversion of organic matter to biogas (by anaerobic processes) has significant benefits above oxidation till carbon dioxide (by aerobic processes). On this page we explain you about some of the READ MORE

Biogas Solutions

Biogas Solutions This is about anaerobic conversion of organic material into biogas. Biogas originated from anaerobic wastewater treatment and/or digestion of organic sludges or wastes. For the production of biogas we focus on 2 main spots in the overall READ MORE

COD Removal

COD Removal This page explains you about the component of carbon. Together with nitrogen and phosphorus it’s 1 or the 3 main components to be removed from most wastewaters. COD (chemical oxygen demand), BOD (biological oxygen demand) and READ MORE

Effluent polishing

Effluent polishing Sometimes the purified wastewater (from secondary or biological treatment) is not yet of good enough quality for discharge. In such cases additional processes might be needed. Examples are: Phosphate removal. Often with coagulation and filtration solutions. READ MORE

Improved Sludge Settling

Improved Sludge Settling On activated sludge systems operators have to balance their setpoints to get a ‘good settleable’ sludge continuously. Sludge to be separated from the water. If for that separation final clarifiers are used it’s important that READ MORE

Nutrients Removal & Recovery

Nutrients Removal & Recovery Besides COD removal wastewater treatment plants must be able to remove minerals from the wastewater. Here the focus is on nitrogen and phosphorous removal to protect the environment from excessive availability of such compounds. READ MORE

Pre-Treatment & Buffering

Pre-Treatment & Buffering With our focus on biological wastewater treatment we aim for a proper preliminary, primary or pre-treatment. Ideally all those compounds should be removed from the wastewater, that could negatively impact the performance off the downstream bioreactor(s) READ MORE

Sludge Treatment

Sludge Treatment With sludge treatment we describe the processes used to manage and dispose the sludge produced in the wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). See our visualisation in the figure. Sludge is mostly water with some solids or READ MORE

Water Reuse

Water Reuse The main question in wastewater treatment is about disposal or recycling! Or even better (direct) reuse! Here we define reuse as different from recycling. Reuse - with or without simple treatment to unload WWTP - is READ MORE
