Pre-Treatment & Buffering

With our focus on biological wastewater treatment we aim for a proper preliminary, primary or pre-treatment. Ideally all those compounds should be removed from the wastewater, that could negatively impact the performance off the downstream bioreactor(s) otherwise.

In this context it’s often about removal of particles (TSS) and fat, oil, grease (FOG), and neutralising of pH (acidity).

On the other hand, it would be good to have a constant water quality and flow to the downstream treatment steps. To have the treatment plant operating continuously 24/7. With as minimum fluctuations as possible.

Physical, mechanical and chemical (separation) principles can be used. For some applications even biological ‘pre-treatment’ possibilities are used. Within this application many of our solutions will be based on technologies like:

    • Diffused Air Flotation (like ‘microbubble’ generators or Nozzle Air Flotation NAF). Based on low pressure air, and no recirculation flow needed.
    • Dispersed (induced) Air Flotation IAF (like Cavitation Air Flotation CAF or other (high-speed) rotating discs/agitators). Based on self-suction of air, and no recirculation flow needed.
    • other variants of (gas driven) flotation.
